
A man arrested in Lehigh Acres on Tuesday faces charges including second-degree murder.
According to the Fort Myers Police Department, Kenneth Lynch Sr., 48, was arrested after law enforcement was called to a disturbance around 3718 Palm Beach Blvd. on Saturday. Officers arrived and found Miguel Olan Lopez, 18, suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite life-saving efforts, Lopez died from his injuries.

After Lopez died, FMPD homicide detectives took on the investigation, interviewing witnesses and collecting video and other evidence from the scene.
While the investigation was happening, detectives were able to establish probable cause to arrest Lynch. A warrant was subsequently granted for Lynch’s arrest.
On Tuesday, U.S. Marshals, FMPD detectives and Lee County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Lynch in Lehigh Acres.
Lynch is in custody at the Lee County Jail and faces charges of second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
