One person is dead after a church was hit with gunfire over the weekend.
Cape Coral police confirmed one person is dead in what detectives call a case of self-defense.
No specific details have been released.
For days neighbors here wondered and worried about what happened at the church.
Bullet holes inside of a church are not what you expect to see, but neighbors have been fixated on sight.
They appeared on the side Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
“You’re just wondering what is going on. Is it still a dangerous scene? Is it what’s happening?” said Debbie Miller.
Miller is one of the neighbors who saw a massive crime scene at 1901 El Dorado Parkway on Saturday.

Cape police’s crime map says there were 18 police cars there for hours.
Now, information has been released acknowledging the death of one person in what police say was a self-defense case.
Having this new information is what neighbors were hoping for.
“It’ll put all of us, neighbors, at ease,” Miller said. “You know, we’ve all talked about it and discussed it, and we all feel like you know somebody needs to release the information.”
Cape Coral police say it remains an active investigation.
