A truck went up in flames after a crash Saturday morning near Edison Avenue and Henderson Avenue in Fort Myers.

Firefighters had left the scene shortly after WINK News arrived. However, a tow truck was still at the scene responding to the vehicle catching fire.

The explosion was heard from the WINK News studio just before 5 a.m. The WINK News studio is only about 10 minutes from the scene of the fire.

WINK News spoke with an officer who said it was a single-vehicle crash without injuries reported since the driver was able to get out in time.

Fort Myers police said they don’t suspect any foul play, but said they’re going to follow up with the Fort Myers Fire Department.

Earlier in the morning WINK News saw police and firefighters speaking with neighbors.

A tow truck arrived not long after WINK News arrived at the scene.
