The state of Florida is pursuing the death penalty against a man indicted for murdering his ex-wife.

A grand jury indicted Ian Baunach of First Degree Murder of his 39-year-old ex-wife Katie Baunach.

Katie disappeared a few days after Hurricane Ian. Then, four days after the disappearance, deputies arrested Ian Baunach.

Katie’s remains were found in his home. Katie’s car was also still at Ian’s house.

The state said due to the cold, calculated, and premeditated manner of the homicide, they’re seeking the death penalty.
