Record Friday heat to close out the workweek

Record heat is expected across Southwest Florida in the afternoon. High temperatures will reach the upper 80s and low to mid-90s under partly cloudy skies. High humidity will make many communities feel like they are experiencing triple-digit heat during peak heating. Wind speeds will reach 5 to 10 mph. Therefore, our boating forecast looks superb: 1- to 2-foot Gulf wave heights and a light chop in our bays are expected.

Highs will remain well above average through the weekend and into next week. There is no rain in the forecast during that stretch. Stray showers do not return to our forecast until the end of next week.
