A blood drive to help save lives at a Lee County ice cream parlor is happening on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the event flyer, starting at 1 p.m. on March 1, the Love Boat Ice Cream shop in San Carlos is hosting a blood drive ending at 5 p.m.

The event will be hosted at their San Carlos store at 16475 San Carlos Boulevard, Fort Myers, Florida.

The donations made through the Lee Health Blood Center will stay in Lee County and benefit the local community. Also, everyone who donates will get a limited-edition long-sleeve t-shirt and wellness checkup. The wellness checkup includes blood pressure, temperature, iron count, and cholesterol screening.

After the blood drive, people can participate in a game the company is hosting where everyone who plays is a winner called “pick-a-prize.” The grand prize Love Boat Ice Cream is offering is a $50 gift card to their ice cream shop.

Love Boat Ice Cream is asking as many people as possible to help reach its goal of 12+ units.
