Record Friday heat and a windy end to the workweek

High temperatures will reach the 80s under partly cloudy skies. High humidity may make several of these spots feel like the 90s during peak heating. The largest change in Friday’s forecast will be the increased winds.

Wind gusts as strong as 30 to 40 mph will push through Southwest Florida in the early afternoon. This will negatively impact our boating forecast: Boaters can expect choppy conditions within our bays and 4-to 6-foot Gulf wave heights. Small craft advisories are now in effect until 7 p.m. for the waters along all of our coastal counties, apart from Collier County.

There are no rain chances for Friday. Rain will enter the forecast on Saturday and increase in coverage into the weekend. Regardless, these will be limited in their coverage.
