(CREDIT: Google Maps) A 26-year-old pedestrian died after troopers said he walked in front of an incoming sedan on Monday morning near San Carlos Park. The crash happened on US-41 north, near Whispering Pines Way at around 6:30 a.m., according to a press release from the Florida Highway Patrol. A sedan driven by a 28-year-old Estero man was traveling north, approaching Whispering Pines Way when a man attempted to cross the northbound US-41 travel lanes. The front of the sedan collided with the pedestrian, according to the press release. The pedestrian died on scene. The crash remains under investigation, FHP said.
