3-acre fire breaks out in Bonita Springs

A three-acre wildfire beginning in east Bonita Springs broke out on Wednesday.

According to Bonita Springs Fire Control and Rescue District, the slow-moving fire originating off Vincent Road is contained at approximately 50%.

The smoke may stay closer to the ground as the winds start to settle Wednesday night.

Residents in neighboring communities shouldn’t be surprised if they smell and see “fog-like smoke” overnight and early Thursday morning.

East-Bonita communities ought to stay indoors if they’re sensitive to smoke.
