Five kids got hit by a school bus, leading to two of the victims possibly fracturing their legs Friday at Pine Ridge Middle School.

The bus driver said she was pulling up to the curb when the children ran to the bus. The driver said she told them to back up when the bus moved forward.

One witness said when the bus lurched forward, multiple kids were trapped under the door and curb, screaming in pain.

One student simply does not understand how it could have happened.

“If you run over a kid, you don’t keep going, you stop at the first kid, you don’t keep running over more. You know, like how do four get run over with two front wheels? Five actually, how does that happen,” Isabella Florio said.

The Collier County Public School District said the bus driver involved in the incident had been removed from driving duties pending the investigation results.
