Boat collision reported in area between Sanibel and Fort Myers Beach

Authorities are investigating a boat collision between the area of Sanibel and Fort Myers Beach on Sunday.

The collision involving two vessels happened at around 10 p.m. Sunday night and sent seven people to be medically evaluated, according to the Sanibel Fire Rescue District. It’s unclear if anyone was transported to the hospital.

The extent of the injuries is unknown at this time, the fire department said.

Sanibel Fire Rescue District and the U.S. Coast Guard are on scene investigating.
