Rain and storm chances return to Southwest Florida

A cold front will bring scattered showers and storms to Southwest Florida. Rain chances will initially be spotty and increase in coverage into the afternoon and evening. Areas north and west will receive the rain before communities to the south.

While most of these will be weak, a few strong (potentially severe storms) can’t be ruled out. Damaging straight-line winds and hail would be the primary hazards. Rain and storm chances will drop as these showers push into the southern extent of the WINK viewing area.

In the afternoon, high temperatures will reach the mid-80s under partly cloudy skies. Boaters will encounter poor conditions on the water. Following the cold front, highs will drop into the 70s on Tuesday and Wednesday.
