Questions surrounding what happened before a charred home burst into flames in a Charlotte County apartment complex on Tuesday.

An adult and child were killed during the fire, and five others were injured at the Trail Apartments.

WINK News got its hands on the calls for service logs dating back to 2018, and deputies have responded to the Trail Apartment Complex a whopping 92 times.

But Tuesday morning was the first time deputies responded to a fire. And the state fire marshal told WINK News Wednesday afternoon it might be several weeks before the office determines the cause.

The other calls of service range from discovering a dead body to domestic violence. More recently, WINK News covered the arrest of two parents who allowed their toddler to wander away from home while naked.

For the time being, the focus is finding the cause of the fire and determining whether the child’s and adult’s death could have been prevented.

Four of the five other victims, including a child, are still in the hospital.
