Credit: Google Maps An 18-year-old woman was killed in a Sunday evening crash on Tamiami Trail in Port Charlotte. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the Port Charlotte woman was driving a car southbound on Tamiami Trail, approaching a posted stop sign at the intersection of Conway Boulevard around 5:15 p.m. She had a 17-year-old girl as her passenger. A 26-year-old woman from Brandon was driving a car eastbound on Conway Boulevard, approaching Tamiami Trail. The 18-year-old failed to stop for the posted stop sign and T-boned the other car. She was transported to an area hospital with critical injuries and later pronounced dead. The crash remains under investigation.
