James Cleveland Woods, 33, is facing multiple charges after allegedly sexually abusing three children in Collier County.

According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, Woods got arrested on Tuesday on warrants charging him with sexual battery on a child and lewd and lascivious molestation of a child.

“By arresting this individual our hardworking detectives continue our fight against people who intend to harm children in our community,” Sheriff Kevin Rambosk said. “We will aggressively seek out and arrest those who abuse children. All children deserve to feel safe in Collier County.”

Woods’ bond has been set at $600,000 by a judge on Wednesday.

An investigation was launched after a parent found ‘concerning’ texts on their child’s phone and swiftly contacted CCSO.

CCSO began working closely with Children’s Advocacy Center during the investigation. After interviewing the child, Woods was identified as the abuser.

It was revealed that Woods repeatedly sexually abused the victim over several years. The victim is now a teenager but the abuse began while the victim was in third grade.

Woods was arrested while he was at work on Tuesday and taken to the Collier County jail.
