Wednesday afternoon brings more record heat

High temperatures will reach the upper 80s and mid-90s under partly cloudy skies. Areas like Fort Myers are expected to break records yet again, with a high temperature of 94 degrees. The previous record stands at 91 degrees, last felt in 2022.

Winds will be breezy at times out of the southeast, becoming southerly as the afternoon goes on, between 10 to 15 mph.

Expect conditions to stay dry all Wednesday with a low-end chance to see a brief, stray shower.

Because of the dry, hot and slightly breezy conditions, the fire risk is elevated for Wednesday afternoon. Continue to be vigilant about flammables outdoors.

The best chance for rain arrives by Easter weekend with isolated storms in the forecast Saturday through Monday.
