(CREDIT: Charlotte County Fire and EMS) A fire at the Villas Del Sol Apartments in Punta Gorda on Saturday sent one person to the hospital and killed a pet dog. According to Charlotte County Fire and EMS, the apartment is located in the 28000 block of Bermont Road. One patient was transported due to smoke inhalation. Two people lived in the home and were displaced. Their pet dog died in the fire. The displaced individuals are being helped by the Red Cross.
