Pedestrian killed in US-41 hit-and-run in North Fort Myers

A 61-year-old Cape Coral man was killed by an unidentified pickup truck driver in a Monday morning hit-and-run crash on US-41 in North Fort Myers.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a pickup truck was traveling south on US-41, approaching the south entrance to North Shore Park around 7 a.m. The pedestrian was in the area of the southbound US-41 edge line and the entrance to North Shore Park.

The right front of the pickup truck struck the man, who landed on the west grass shoulder and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver left the scene and remains unknown.

The pickup truck is possibly a blue 2016 to 2019 Chevrolet Silverado with a damaged right-side
