Two juveniles have been arrested after allegedly posting shooting threats toward LaBelle Middle School and LaBelle High School.

The Hendry County Sheriff’s Office posted an update on Monday around midnight that said the teens are charged with written threats or electronic threats to kill after detectives had several reports via the Fortify Florida hotline app.

The Fortify Florida app allows people to submit tips to the school district, local police or deputies and state officials.

You can remain anonymous and include photos or videos that are relevant to the tip. All school districts in Florida use the app.

“They reported it through our app and let us know, ‘Hey, these are some concerning issues coming out,'” said Curtis Clay, Assistant Director of School Safety and Security for the school district. “The Hendry County Sheriff’s Office jumped on it real fast and started tracking it down, ended up locating and tracking down the two individuals that made the account and the false statement, the false threats and arrested them.”

The teens reportedly posted the threats on Instagram. They’re currently being held in the Hendry County Jail.

According to the Hendry County School District, the school will run normally but will still use weapon detection systems.
