Fatal crash in Immokalee leaves 2 dead, both cars engulfed in flames

The Florida Highway Patrol responded to a fiery crash that left two people dead in Immokalee near the intersection of State Road 82 and Gators Slough Lane.

According to FHP, the deadly crash happened at around 11:35 p.m. on Friday on the east and westbound lanes of SR 82.

An SUV driven by a 60-year-old man from Lehigh Acres, was traveling east on SR 82. At the same time, another SUV, driven by a 21-year-old woman from Lehigh Acres, was traveling west on SR 82.

The 60-year-old exited the designated travel lane and entered the westbound lane of SR 82 when its front collided with the other SUV’s frontend.

Both vehicles became engulfed in flames.

Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene by Collier County EMS.
