Motorcyclist dies in crash with pickup truck in Collier County

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly crash on Wilson Boulevard, near 10th Avenue Northeast in Collier County.

According to troopers, the deadly crash happened at around 1:25 a.m. on Saturday on the southbound lane of Wilson Boulevard.

According to FHP, the motorcyclist, a 60-year-old man from Naples, was killed in the crash after rear-ending a pickup truck.

The pickup truck, driven by a 25-year-old man from Naples, was pulling out of the driveway on Wilson Boulevard, attempting to make a left turn on Wilson.

The motorcycle was traveling south on Wilson Boulevard, and as the truck was making its left turn, it failed to yield, resulting in the front portion of the motorcycle striking the rear right portion of the truck.

The motorcyclist flew off his motorcycle and was later pronounced deceased at North Collier Hospital.

The crash remains under investigation.
