The Collier County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a death that happened at a house party.

According to authorities, detectives responded to a reported shooting that happened at a house on 64th Street Southwest, east of Interstate 75, Saturday evening.

One person was confirmed dead.

According to CCSO, the person died from a gunshot wound.

Neighbors heard the activity as deputies arrived at the home outside Naples.

WINK News reporter Paul Dolan was at the scene and had a chance to speak with some neighbors.

One of those neighbors, Bradley Cook, said, “I heard about seven or eight pops, gunshots, basically, and then it wasn’t but about five minutes later I heard the sirens.”

Sunday morning, four stray shoes and two cars that no one in the neighborhood had seen before were still on the street.

Cook said this is not typical for his community.

“It’s safe and quiet. Yeah, I love living here,” he said.

Gunshots, helicopters and sirens stood out in the quiet, normally quiet neighborhood.

“There were quite a few sirens, and then I heard a helicopter go over … Text from the neighbor saying that there was a party and then somebody, there were shots fired, somebody was killed. That’s all I heard.”

There is no one in custody at this time.
