Rehabilitated manatee to be released into Port of the Islands Marina in Naples

The Manatee Sightseeing and Wildlife Adventures is set to release a rehabilitated manatee back into the waters at the Port of the Islands Marina.

The injured marine mammal was rescued by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission along with Manatee Sightseeing and Wildlife Adventures. Its release is scheduled for noon on Wednesday.

According to Sightseeing and Wildlife Adventures, the injured animal was transported to Zoo Tampa, where it was nursed to health.

Naples locals are encouraged to come and experience the mammal’s release.

Attendees will have access to free parking across the street from the fire station/ship store at Port of Island’s Marina.
