The Collier County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man accused of supplying more than 10,000 fentanyl-laced pills disguised as prescription painkillers.

Jose Manuel Pereyorosello, 35, was arrested on Thursday following a year-long investigation led by the CCSO vice and narcotics bureau detectives.

According to detectives, Pereyorosello supplied the 10,634 green fentanyl pills that detectives seized during a search warrant at a Golden Gate Estates residence on June 2023.

The sheriff’s office remarked that the seized fentanyl weighed 2.37 pounds, enough to kill 531,500 people.

The pills were imprinted with “M” and “30” to resemble prescription “30 M” oxycodone hydrochloride.

Collier County Sheriff Kevin Rambosk said that this drug bust was the largest seizure of fentanyl in CCSO’s history.

He then mentioned that operations similar to the arrest of Pereyorosello further emphasize the necessity of going after the supplier.

“Our investigations don’t end with the arrests of the dealers and the buyers; we’re going after the suppliers too,” said Rambosk.

Pereyorosello was taken to the Collier County Jail, where he was rejected for bail.
