CREDIT: Fort Myers Police Department The Fort Myers Police Department Narcotics Unit conducted an operation targeting drug traffickers and individuals unlawfully selling and possessing firearms in Fort Myers. On Jan. 8, the Special Enforcement Division and members of the U.S. Marshals Service conducted a round-up operation to apprehend the identify drug traffickers called “Operation Ghost Busters.” The investigation was conducted over several months, resulting in 16 individuals arrested. Before the round-up operation, it was discovered that three of the individuals identified in this operation were already in custody. One individual is in the Lee County Jail, and the other two are in the Florida Department of Corrections. One of the traffickers in this operation had organized narcotic transactions from a Florida Department of Corrections Facility.
