Lee County Commission meeting

The Lee Board of County Commissioners voted Tuesday to approve an agreement with Family Initiative Inc. in Cape Coral to use a portion of its property for emergency operations.

According to county commissioners, this action aligns with the county’s commitment to the Resilient Lee Recovery and Resilience plan.

This agreement also approves using the Thrive Academy campus and adjoining lots on Chiquita Boulevard South for Cape Coral emergency response, relief, and recovery efforts.

The uses will include staging for emergency response equipment, a distribution point for essential emergency supplies, and other emergency-related needs.

The county does not pay for the use of the property; however, county staff will be responsible for preparing the site.
