Authorities initially attempted to stop Selby’s white GMC Sierra just before 11:30 p.m. for a broken tail light and dangerous driving.

Cape Coral police said Selby took off as soon as the officer approached the vehicle despite being recognized from an earlier disturbance at Diamond Billiards on Pine Island Road.

The truck was reported stolen from a family member.

After fleeing the first stop, Selby was pulled over again by another Cape Coral officer but managed to escape a second time.

It wasn’t until the Florida Highway Patrol became involved that the chase came to an end.

State troopers spotted the white truck at the intersection of Pondella Road and Barrett Road.

They executed a pit maneuver to stop the vehicle.

Selby then allegedly struck a patrol car, crashed the truck, and fled on foot.

He ultimately surrendered to authorities to face the charges.
