The Salvation Army has announced the permanent closure of the Naples Family Store on Davis Boulevard.

The company said the decision was made to redirect its resources and strengthen programs for children and youth and Emergency Assistance Social Services.

“This decision was not made lightly,” said Captains Will and Veronica Conley, Commanding Officers of The Salvation Army of Collier County. “We have been intentional and thoughtful in evaluating how to best serve our community. The thrift store had become more costly to operate, and the revenue simply was not as strong as in the past. We made the decision to liquidate this asset and reinvest the proceeds strategically to establish a more productive and stable stream of cash flow for our core programs.”

The thrift store will officially close its doors on April 30.

Until then, the community is encouraged to continue supporting The Salvation Army through donations and volunteering.
