Traffic conditions are improving in Bonita Springs as smoke from a prescribed burn at Villagewalk Boulevard has begun to dissipate.

Eastbound Villagewalk was blocked early Friday morning, causing drivers to make U-turns at Palmira Boulevard but has since reopened.

Visibility is improving with blue skies and clear conditions. However, you can still smell the smoke.

Early Friday morning, traffic lights were slowing down, and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office was directing traffic.

By 9:15 a.m., all lanes on Palmira Boulevard were clear.

A car crash at Logan Boulevard also contributed to the road closure. No injuries from the crash were reported.
