Windy ahead of scattered storms this Wednesday afternoon

The Weather Authority is tracking a windier Wednesday with scattered storms expected throughout the afternoon.

The Weather Authority Meteorologist Zach Maloch said, “Wednesday will be a rather impactful day, as Southwest Florida should expect to see higher wind gusts along with scattered showers.”

Wednesday

The Weather Authority is tracking a strong system moving across the country.

While severe weather is not expected for Southwest Florida, Wednesday afternoon and early evening will see scattered rain and a few storms.

Before storms arrive, expect a warm and windy day.

Highs climb into the lower to mid-80s with a Southwest wind gusting from 30 to 40 mph. 

Thursday

Cooler temperatures move in Thursday behind Wednesday’s strong cold front.

Thursday highs will top out in the lower to mid-70s. Throughout Thursday afternoon, we’ll see less humid, breezy, and cooler conditions.

Temperatures turn colder on Friday morning. 

Friday

Colder temperatures arrive for Friday morning, with lows in the mid to upper 40s for many communities.

There will be much sunshine throughout the day, with highs climbing into the mid- to upper 70s.

Milder and slightly more humid air moves on Friday night for your weekend plans.
