The Cape Coral City Council approved the purchasing and installation of the Tactical Intelligence Analytic Center for the Cape Coral Police Department.

The Tactical Intelligence Analytic Center allows police one central location via a video wall, where multiple camera sites and programs throughout Cape Coral can be viewed simultaneously.

The council approved Resolution 56-25 during their weekly Wednesday meeting.

According to the police department, the equipment and software will allow department analysts and detectives to centralize the much-needed resources available to them during emergencies.

The total cost will amount to $366,338.

Pending authorization to use forfeiture funds, $266,338 will be allocated to costs.

The remaining balance of $100,000 will come from the general fund.
