If you are a Charlotte County resident looking for guidance on preparing your home for floods and storms, the Florida Division of Emergency Management might have the answer.

FDEM will host a series of application assistance sessions for Elevate, a statewide residential mitigation program that helps protect Charlotte County residents’ homes and communities from natural disasters.

Residents who were affected by recent storms, such as Hurricane Debby and Hurricane Milton, are encouraged to attend these sessions.

The event will occur at Tringali Community Center, 3460 N. Access Road in Englewood, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on March 19 to March 21. Residents can learn about the program’s eligibility requirements and types of projects available and receive assistance with their applications.

Educational presentations will take place daily at noon and 5 p.m.

The program is open to legal property owners of residential properties in the state, including single-family homes, multi-family homes, apartment buildings, manufactured and mobile homes and condominiums.

There will also be educational sessions online, which interested attendees can register here.
