FDOT, Cape Coral to hold public meeting for Pine Island Road improvement project

The City of Cape Coral and the Florida Department of Transportation are set to hold a public meeting regarding the Pine Island Road improvement project.

An online and in-person meeting has been scheduled.

Cape Coral residents and business owners are encouraged to participate in the hybrid public information meeting, where the project will be discussed in detail.

FDOT is proposing improvements to enhance safety and traffic flow, including:

  • Median closure at the Lowe’s entrance along State Road 78
  • Second eastbound left turn lane at Pondella Road
  • Traffic channelization islands at Del Prado Boulevard
  • Directional median island at Hibiscus Drive
  • Lighting, signalization and pedestrian enhancements

The in-person session will be held on April 3 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Cape Coral Technical College, 360 Santa Barbara Blvd. N.
