Suspect on the run following crash in Hendry County

According to the Hendry County Sheriff’s Office, there was a police presence on Thursday night in the area of Sioux Avenue and Cheyeene Avenue.

Hendry County K-9 units were in the middle of a traffic stop when the driver of the suspect’s vehicle allegedly crashed into two cars at the end of Sioux Avenue.

The suspect then jumped from the vehicle and fled into a wooded area.

Hendry County deputies and the K-9 units have a perimeter in the area set up.

Authorities ask residents to remain in their homes and not interact with deputies or K-9s unless they are approached.

The Hendry County Sheriff’s Office asks that you call 863-674-5600 if you have seen anything suspicious or have any knowledge of the suspect involved.
