Taylor Fakler, a cancer survivor, is once again riding with confidence in North Fort Myers. After battling cancer over the past year, Taylor is back in the saddle with Special Equestrians.

Last September, WINK News introduced Taylor when she reunited with her horse, Wishy, after months away undergoing chemotherapy.

Her mother, Amanda Waletko, reflected on how therapeutic riding gave Taylor freedom.

“Life has kind of limited a lot of things that she’s able to do, and to see her get up on this big horse and not be afraid,” said Waletko. “And very first time, just do it was just amazing.”

This week, Taylor took her first ride atop Wishy, nearly a year since doctors discovered a mass that was diagnosed as lymphoma.

Her miraculous recovery from cancer and return to riding marks a significant milestone.

Taylor’s mom shared her joy, saying that Taylor got up on her horse like she never missed a day, highlighting the power of prayer.
