Fire destroys Naples Kwik Pik

Published: Updated:

NAPLES, Fla.- It took only 10 minutes for a fire to destroy a local convenience store early Sunday morning.

An extension cord that was plugged into a deli refrigerator at the Kwik Pik store off Goodlette-Frank Road and 5th Avenue North sparked the fire.

A taxi driver who saw the flames called 911.

The intense heat eventually caused the store’s cameras to stop working. No one was inside the Kwik Pik at the time.

The damage is estimated at $500,000.
