Florida Highway Patrol says a woman has died after crashing on US-41 near Pineapple Lane in North Fort Myers.

Troopers say a 50-year-old woman was traveling south on US-41 around 3:20 a.m. Sunday morning when she made a left turn and left the road and hit a tree. Troopers say her injuries from the crash were fatal.

Troopers have not released the name of the woman or any factors that may have led to the crash.

The Florida Highway Patrol no longer releases the names of those involved in traffic crashes, citing Marsy’s Law.
