Firefighters responded to the fire call early Thursday.

WINK News arrived on the scene, where reporter Sommer Senne spoke with neighbors.

One witness mentioned smelling smoke on the third floor of the building at around 3:15 a.m.

The witness continued to say the fire alarm failed to activate, prompting him to call the fire department.

Once the fire department arrived on the scene, crews focused on the third floor of the building, where the fire was billowing out.

Crews have contained the fire; however, it remains unclear how much damage was caused by the blaze.

The scene is currently under investigation.
