‘Love, peace and taco grease’: Guy Fieri brings Flavortown spirit to Naples

A famous foodie brought Flavortown to Naples.

‘Culinary rock star’ Guy Fieri was in town Tuesday night to promote his additive-free tequila brand.

Fieri is known for his Food Network shows, such as Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives and Guy’s Grocery Games.

One by one, Fieri fans excitedly stepped up to take their picture with the mayor of Flavortown inside Total Wine and More off Naples Boulevard.

Many received autographs on bottles of Santo, a brand Fieri co-owns with Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Sammy Hagar.

Only halfway through the one-hour event, the line had already wrapped around the building and down the street!

When WINK News asked Guy Fieri about this showing of Southwest Florida support, he had one thing to say: “It’s all about love, peace and taco grease, you know.”

“I love the Florida energy, the Florida attitude,” said Fieri. “We’ve got a lot of bottles to sign; we made an announcement there were going to be a few people, and low and behold, I think everybody showed up.”

Fieri said he was not only in town to film for his shows but that tomorrow, he and his team will be heading up to Holmes Beach for lunch to honor Florida’s first responders.
