Cape Coral Animal Shelter volunteers distribute gifts to cats and dogs

Published: Updated:

Christmas is meant to be merry, but for dogs and cats waiting for their forever homes it can be anything but.

Dozens of volunteers gathered at the Cape Coral Animal Shelter on Christmas Day to distribute gifts to the furry friends.

Every single dog and cat at the shelter enjoyed a festive day filled with gifts, a special dinner and lots of love.

The animals each received several presents, all of which were donated by the community.

This was the fifth year the event has been held.

If you’re thinking about adopting a four-legged friend the executive director encourages you to see what the shelter has to offer.

Right now, the shelter can hold roughly 100 animals. Next year the shelter will break ground on a brand new building that will allow them to triple the current capacity.
