NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla.- Southwest Florida’s famous bald eagle is flying free once again. The Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife (CROW) has been taking care of Ozzie since he broke his collar bone. Ozzie was released Wednesday morning near the Dick Pritchett Real Estate. After weeks of rehabilitation, Ozzie was placed into a large flying closure to strengthen his ability to fly. Veterinarians say his collar bone didn’t heal completely straight, it remains slightly crooked. But vets say they didn’t want to risk an operation. Ozzie will also be tracked by vets so if there’s ever an issue, they will be able to find him and help him out.
