A three-vehicle crash in Fort Myers sent a woman to the hospital Thursday morning.

The Florida Highway Patrol says a 40-year-old Cape Coral woman in a Ford Focus was headed south on Metro Parkway when she swerved to avoid a tractor-trailer that was backing into a business. Her car traveled into the path of an SUV and then collided with the trailer, with the SUV running into the rear of her car, forcing the front of it to be wedged under the rear of the trailer.

The crash happened at around 6:15 a.m. between Arc Way and Crystal Drive.

All lanes have since reopened.

The Florida Highway Patrol no longer releases the names of those involved in crashes, citing Marsy’s Law.
