Southwest Florida schools are responding ahead of Hurricane Milton’s arrival.

Lee County

  • The Lee County School District has decided to close schools through Thursday.
  • Oasis Schools in Cape Coral are closed through Thursday.
  • Canterbury School in Fort Myers will be closed through Friday.
  • Florida Gulf Coast University classes and events will be closed Tuesday through Friday. Residential students have been ordered to evacuate by 2 p.m. on Tuesday.
  • FSW will be closed and all classes will be canceled on Tuesday and Wednesday. Decisions for the remainder of the week will be made as the situation develops.
  • Keiser University Naples and Fort Myers campuses will be closed on Tuesday.
  • Bishop Verot will be closed from Monday through Wednesday.

Glades County

The Glades County School District have closed schools. They will proceed with classes on Monday.

“This decision also allows families the necessary time to prepare for the storm or evacuate if needed. Additionally, we want to inform you that West Glades School will be opening as a shelter on Tuesday for those who require assistance,” the school said in a statement released Sunday.

Collier County

Collier County Public Schools will be closed Monday through Thursday.

Charlotte County

All Charlotte County Public Schools will remain closed through at least Thursday. They will provide updates as soon as possible after the storm to assess whether schools can safely reopen on Friday.

DeSoto County

The DeSoto School District has decided to close school through Thursday.

Hendry County

Hendry County has announced that it will close schools for through Friday.
