IMMOKALEE, Fla.- A store owner in Immokalee is accused of selling prescription drugs and contacts without a license.

“I thought I’m selling item like other items in the store,” said Ihsan Innab.

Innab says inspectors check his store on the 200 block of South First Street several times a year, but he was unaware he was doing something illegal.

“To be 100 percent honest, one time young inspector, he come and he say something about the contact lenses and I asked him what he said,” said Innab, “and he took the display, but he never said this is illegal, this is against the law to sell.”

Innab didn’t comment on the prescription drug charge he’s also facing, but he says the contacts he was selling were non-prescription, color contacts and he didn’t realize selling them would get him in trouble.

“They treat me like I kill somebody. They book me, I had the bond ready, they make me wait the whole day.”
