FORT MYERS, Fla. — Fort Myers residents are beginning to prepare in case Southwest Florida gets affected by Hurricane Matthew.

Grocery stores such as Publix and Winn Dixie are doing their best to keep their supplies stocked.

For those who have a generator, Edward Scheiss of Bo’s Electric said to make sure to check the battery, air filter and oil.

It’s strongly recommended to order medical supplies now in case there are delays in shipments because of the storm.

All Southwest Florida schools are open tomorrow but the school district said they will be monitoring the storm closely.
