FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — The AMBER Alert for the Broward County child was canceled, a Florida Department of Law Enforcement alert message said.

An alert was issued an AMBER Alert for a missing child Sunday morning, an FDLE alert message said.

William James Rogers will face charges for the abduction of 3-year-old Lee D. Parrish, who’s now in the custody of Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives, the sheriff’s office said.

Rogers was apprehended after he fled from deputies. He told them that he dropped Parrish off at a home in Fort Lauderdale, deputies said.

The boy was found in the company of a woman who, according to deputies, told them she was just about to report that he had been found.

Rogers hasn’t said why he took the boy, and it doesn’t appear as though there’s a relationship between Rogers or the woman with whom the boy was found.
