A man found guilty of robbing a Lee County Starbucks in July 2021 has been sentenced to 30 years in prison on Monday.

Dustin Daniel Phennicie, 42, of Fort Myers, was sentenced to 30 years in prison followed by 5 years of probation for robbery with a deadly weapon. He was found guilty in March, following a trial in Lee County.

On July 14, 2021, Phennicie walked into a Starbucks on Daniels Parkway in Lee County, greeted people and asked for change. He then pulled out a knife and restrained an employee, while demanding money. He held the employee at knifepoint until he got cash and ran away.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office handled the investigation and later took Phennicie into custody after finding him at a nearby hotel.
