Several businesses along Times Square on Fort Myers Beach are closed and boarded up ahead of Hurricane Milton.

The town of Fort Myers Beach has issued a mandatory evacuation for the entire island, and they’re asking everyone to be off of the island by 3 p.m. Monday.

They’re also asking people to take trailers, RVs, dumpsters, porta-potties and golf carts off the island with them.

For those last-minute preparations, the town will have sand and sandbags at town hall from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday.

The island is expecting a lot of rain over the next few days, so officials are asking people to take these evacuation orders seriously and stay safe.

We’ll continue to bring you updates on Hurricane Milton as the storm progresses.
