‘Operation Inasmuch’ reaches SWFL

Published: Updated:

A national effort to get church members out of their pews and into action is hitting Southwest Florida.

It’s called Operation Inasmuch.

Saturday, more than 600 volunteers pitched in to help the needy.

Operation Inasmuch uses volunteers from different community churches to do what they call compassion projects.

The name of the group is derived from biblical scripture.

The national nonprofit bands congregants from a variety of churches to serve their communities.

Locally, volunteers worked on projects like yard work, applying fresh coats of paint to buildings, and replacing bathroom floors that seniors couldn’t afford to fix.

Over 1,600 churches in 21 states have joined the movement. If you’d like to learn more information, visit www.operationinasmuch.org.
