Man pleads guilty to shooting at deputies

FORT MYERS, Fla.- A Bonita Springs man at the center of a deputy-involved shooting will spend one year in jail.

George Larsen, 66, pleaded guilty on Monday to shooting at deputies at his home on Red Hibiscus Drive when they responded to a 911 call in February.

Larsen’s wife told deputies at the time that her husband was drunk and shooting guns inside the house. He was shot by deputies after raising his rifle at officials on the scene.

Larsen agreed to spend one year in jail and nine years of probation. He is also banned from owning firearms, or possessing and consuming alcohol in the future.
